What brought you to CASA?

An older-model Toyota Highlander with a lot of miles. Seriously..  

 

Where did you work and what was your role prior to coming to CASA?

Prior to joining CASA, I worked in public school districts in the Susquehanna Valley for over 30 years, most recently as the Superintendent of Schools in the Spring Grove Area School District. I also have worked for the Department of Defense in Washington DC and a multinational defense firm based in Lancaster PA.

 

What is your favorite part of working at CASA?

My favorite part is interacting with the students and seeing their growth in their chosen art discipline.  Early in my time here at CASA, I have learned that we have a closely connected student community and I really enjoy seeing them grow their talents and personalities.

What is your connection to the arts? How are you an artist?

While I have no formal (or even informal) training in any of the arts that we teach at CASA, I have learned to appreciate the work that goes into each person’s artistic expression. Seeing student (and teacher) art on display at CASA makes me happy to be a part of that artistic expression.

What do you feel is your impact on our school community, students, and culture?

I want to make available as many opportunities as possible to our students for them to be successful once they graduate from CASA. The CASA family has a great outreach beyond the School itself, and we want to see our alumni represent us in the best way possible!

What advice do you have for our students?

Take your work seriously; don’t take yourself too seriously!

Do you advise any clubs at CASA? 

Not currently.

I throw right-handed and bat left-handed. I never went to kindergarten. I favor DC over Marvel.
