My name is Mrs. Baker and I am thrilled to begin my fifth year as the school counselor at Capital Area School for the Arts Charter School. It has been a wonderful journey of growth being a part of this amazing school from its inception. I earned my Master of Education degree in 1996 from Shippensburg University while also working for two years in the admissions office. I am qualified to counsel students in grades K-12 and I also hold National Counselor Certification. I have been employed by several area school districts including Susquenita and West Shore, as well as the Capital Area Intermediate Unit. Additionally, I worked in private industry for 11 years assisting students and their families as a consultant in the college search and application process.
At CASA, I am committed to the academic and personal welfare of the whole student. Because we are a small school, I am fortunate to get to know our students well and to observe their academic and personal growth over the course of their high school careers. I am available to assist students with academic, career, college, and personal issues and I work closely with teachers, parents, and administration to advocate for each individual student's best interests and educational success. My goal is to help students focus on their individual growth and development so they achieve success in high school and can make meaningful contributions as responsible members of society.
I am the advisor for all on-line course enrollment. If you have any questions about the Capital Area Online Learning Association (CAOLA) or the delivery of our on-line academic courses, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
