CASA ALUMNI: PAT LAWRENCE named PROJECT MANAGER at ADIRONDACK STUDIOS

Pat Lawrence, a CASA Theater Alumni,has been appointed Project Manager at ADIRONDACK STUDIOS in Argyle, NY. Adirondack Studios creates custom thematic architectural and set designs.

CASA Alumni: Da'Vine Joy Randolph nominated for a Tony Award

DA'VINE JOY RANDOLPH, CASA Alumni, received a Tony Award nomination this past year, for her Broadway debut in the new musical, GHOST, based on the Oscar-winning film of the same name. She is creating the role of Oda Mae Brown for the Broadway production, the role made famous in the film by Whoopi Goldberg. Da'Vine graduated from Temple University's Theater Program in 2009, and is also a graduate of the MFA Acting Program at Yale University.

CASA ALUMNI: ALEC KOONE aka BALAM ACAB releases his debut album.

Alec Koone, CASA MUSIC ALUMNI, has completed his first album under his musical moniker, Balam Acab.

It is being favorably reviewed by The Washington Post, Pitchfork (where it received an 8.2 of 10 rating), and NPR. You can read the NPR preview HERE

The album "Wander/Wonder" was released August 29th, 2011 on Tri Angle Records.

Alec's music was also licensed for a LOREAL commercial featuring Beyonce.

Emily Yanek

Emily Yanek is discussed in a recent PA Music Scene article:

Whether it’s the combination of the 70’s – 80’s vibe, the tastefully crafted lyrics, or her amazing ability to tell a story with her vocals, Emily has a stripped down purity in her voice.

Emily has dabbled in playing the guitar but above all else Emily is a piano player. Also, she plays the harmonica as she loves the dynamics that [it] adds when she is playing live. “I guess I missed out on the checkbook-balancing genes,” she joked. Emily is a graduate of the music program at Capital Area School for the Arts.
